International Public Health Management Development Program (IPHMDP)

Project Description

The International Public Health Management Development Program (IPHMDP), organized by the Department of Community Medicine and School of Public Health, PGIMER, Chandigarh, is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) framework.

Since its inception in 2016, the IPHMDP has evolved into a global model for strengthening public health leadership, having trained more than 1,500 mid- and senior-level professionals from over 96 countries. The program is delivered through both in-person and online modalities, featuring specialized courses such as the International Public Health Management Development Program (IPHMDP), Public Health Policy and Management Program (PHPM), and Nursing Leadership and Management (NLM).

The overarching goal of the program is to build the leadership and management capacity of a diverse group of professionals, including doctors, nurses, academicians, public health practitioners, researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders whose work directly or indirectly contributes to improving health systems and outcomes.
