The Resource Centre for Tobacco Control (RCTC), Department of Community Medicine & School of Public Health, PGIMER Chandigarh, in collaboration with Vital Strategies, organized a National Webinar on 21 July 2026.The webinar brought together over 300 participants from across the country, including policymakers, government officials, legal experts, researchers, clinicians, law enforcement agencies, civil society organizations, and public health professionals. The deliberations were led by 12 distinguished national experts, providing a multidisciplinary platform to examine the rapidly evolving landscape of oral nicotine pouches (ONPs) and identify strategic priorities for India's regulatory response. The discussions highlighted that oral nicotine pouches represent an emerging generation of nicotine products deliberately designed to circumvent existing tobacco control regulations.
