It was a pleasure to interact with the Director and the dedicated team at NTTL Guwahati and engage in meaningful discussions on strengthening India's tobacco testing ecosystem. The enthusiasm, commitment, and innovative ideas shared during the visit reaffirm the importance of scientific collaboration in advancing tobacco control.
As the Convener of the Scientific Support Group (SSG) for Strengthening National Tobacco Testing Laboratories, constituted by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, I remain committed to supporting the implementation of WHO FCTC Articles 9 and 10 through scientific excellence, technical capacity building, and evidence-based regulation.
Strengthening our National Tobacco Testing Laboratories is a crucial step towards building a robust regulatory framework that protects public health.
Together, we are building stronger science for stronger tobacco control.
